Have you seen the news / newspaper this week? We have been making headlines. Earlier this week we got a visit from times news that they wanted to a newspaper article on the female firefighters in the department after they learned from borough meeting that we have 9 female firefighters/ fire police and how we appointed our first female fire line officer this year.
Here is that article www.tnonline.com/20231128/women-have-key-roles-in-slatington-fire-dept/
After this article was released a news reporter from WNEP reached out and also wanted to do a story but as the department as a whole.
Here is the news clip www.wnep.com/article/news/local/lehigh-county/fire-department-sees-increase-in-female-volunteers-...
We are so thankful for all the volunteers that we have recruited this year. All the volunteers have put in many hours of classes this year on top of vigorous training on Tuesday nights.
We have many fundraisers going on , so make sure to check our Facebook page frequently!
Volunteer opportunities at Slatington:
1. Fire fighter
2. Fire Police
3. Support member / help with fundraisers
4. Junior Firefighter
5. Driver
If you want any info on joining please reach out to us on here or stop on down on a Tuesday night.
